2. DECK MECHANICS

When you use a button, a new one is drawn to take its place. The deck consists of 214 buttons shuffled randomly at the start. If the deck is exhausted, the discard pile is reshuffled to ensure the game continues until someone wins.

4. GAMEPLAY

The deck is shuffled, and each player is dealt six buttons. A random player starts the game, and turns proceed clockwise.

Buttons are categorized into four groups:

  1. Hazard Buttons: These are played on opponents to hinder them. You cannot stack the same hazard (e.g., you cannot use "Flat tire" on someone who already has one). Using a hazard ends your turn.

  2. Remedy Buttons: These are played on yourself to fix hazards. You cannot use a remedy if the problem doesn't exist (e.g., you cannot "Refuel" if your tank is already full). Using a remedy ends your turn.

  3. Protection Buttons: These are played on yourself to gain permanent immunity to specific hazards. If you play a protection button for the first time, you may draw a new button and take another action. Otherwise, your turn ends. Once active, these buttons prevent specific hazards from affecting you (e.g., "Protection: Fuel drain" makes you immune to fuel theft).

  4. Movement Buttons (Miles): If your car is running and functional, these buttons move you toward the finish line. Using a movement button ends your turn.

5. RULES AND CONSTRAINTS

All players begin the game stationary with their engines off. You must use "Engine on" to begin moving. Hazards like "Fuel drain," "Flat tire," or "Car crash" will stall your engine unless you have the matching protection.

"Car crash" and "Turn car around" can only be used against players who are currently moving. If your car is turned around and then hit with another hazard, you must repair and restart the car before you can use "Turn car back" to face the finish line again.

A car that has been turned around moves backward, potentially returning to the starting line. While a "Speed limit" is active, you can only use 25 or 50-mile buttons; all higher movement buttons are restricted.

You must reach the finish line with an exact count. If the goal is 1000 miles, you must land exactly on 1000. Any movement button that would put you over the limit cannot be used.
